Souls of Children in Limbo, by Renaissance painter (1397, c.)

The fresco represents countless kids in limbo for not being baptized before dying. Despite being the souls of very small children, the painter represents them with male genitalia, this being the only gender attribute (all of them are represented bold and without any other individualizing attributes).
