Title
Allegory of the death of the Christian knight, by Camilo (1651, c.)
Description
The image depicts the corpse of a male knight lying on the ground, with clothes. Above this, a female figure with long blonde hair levitates while an angel holds the cloth that covers her body. The female figure represents the soul of the male knight, and thus the picture depicts a male soul as a clearly sexed female figure.
