Description
Original title: De overwinning van de Schilderkunst over de Dood ("The Victory of Painting over Death").
The painting depicts a room. In the center of the room, a young woman with her mouth covered is painting a tower. To her right, another young woman in a blue dress and behind her another young woman with wings. Underneath the woman painting, there is a winged corpse holding a broken scythe. This image complements the broken hourglass and phoenix rising from its ashes. Underneath the corpse, a skeleton with a broken arrow pointing at the woman painting.
On the top left corner, two cherubs carrying a portrait of the painting woman.
