Title

Satan Sin & Death, by Ogborne and Rowlandson (1792)

Description

The engraving represents three allegorical figures: Satan, sin and death. Satan is represented on the left by a winged man that is trying to attack death. Sin is in the middle of the two figures trying to impede the conflict, and is represented by a woman with her chest uncovered. To the right is death, represented by a skeleton with an arrow wearing what appears to be a dress. Although it is not clear the gender portrayed by death in this engraving, the gender of the other two characters is made clear.
