Title
Skeletons and a bisected woman, by García Hidalgo (1691, c.)
Description
The engraving presents a triad man on the left holding a scythe, a woman in the center and a neutral skeleton on the right. The engraving represents death that implies a form of evolutive narrative or transformation. The woman is also represented as a vanitas figure, as she appears as a hybrid being between flesh and death, man and death.
